About Us

Vicky Malvini and sister-in-law, Lisa Morris, are the owners of BellaJames, a contemporary women’s boutique in Willow Glen. Both Vicky and Lisa, who have roots in the community, opened BellaJames on March 4th, 2006. 

BellaJames is a contemporary blend of fashion forward clothing for women of every lifestyle.

 

For Malvini and Morris, the opening of BellaJames is a dream realized. Both spent many years working in retail and fashion. Vicky is a first generation Greek-American who grew up in Willow Glen. Her father, James Morris, owned three retail stores in Santa Cruz County. Like her father, Vicky began working in retail at 14. Lisa started working in retail at 15 and graduated from FIDM with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. She later moved to the Bay Area from Southern California. In the late 1980’s, the two women met while working as buyers at Nordstrom. They became friends and Vicky introduced Lisa to her brother, Ted; the two later married. After she had her first child, Vicky left her job to focus on raising her family. Lisa opted for a career in recruiting after her first son was born for a more stable work schedule. However, fashion remained on the minds of both women. BellaJames is a collaboration of their creativity and fashion knowledge.  Vicky and Lisa named the store in honor of their family: Bella from Malvini’s daughter, Isabella; and James after Morris’ son, Dimitri (a Greek family name). BellaJames continues to be a labor of love for Vicky and Lisa: "We feel so fortunate to have built a place in this community that our customers enjoy and appreciate, and we look forward to many more years in Willow Glen!"
